The Colors of Kory
Early morning, if you look to the east,
And allow your eyes to feast
Upon the beauty of the sky,
It’s Kory’s was of saying “Hi.”
There’s gold and silver and orange and blue.
He tends to favor the latter two.
You’ll see his hair in the flaming sun;
Blue eyes, as deep as the oceans run.
His sparkling ways will then shine through
When the sun hits the waves
As they come to you.
Stand very close, as they roll in
Close your eyes and he
Is with you again.
You’ll hear his voice
In the gentle breeze
And you may say out loud,
“Come back, Kory, please!”
Then the warmth of the sun
Will touch your face;
His way of saying,
“I’m in a better place.”
The call of the birds
As they soar through the air,
Will tell you that
he is waiting there.
And as the waves
Crash up on the shore
It’s Kory, asking
“What are you crying for?”
As the sun moves high
And the wind grows strong
You will hear him
Sing his song.
“Although I’m not with you,
You know I can see
What you’re doing down there,
And you better not be,
Crying or grieving
For the life that I had
Cause I’m hanging with God
Happy tears you should shed."
So all day long
As you go on your way
Know Kory is there
And will always stay.
Right here in our heart
Always on our mind
Cause all of us know
He is one of a kind.
But God knows there are times
When we’re all very sad
So he did us a favor
And was very glad,
To send us the water,
the wind and the sun
To remind us of Kory
When the day starts,
And is done.
So as in the morning
When you look to the East
For the orange and blue
So your eyes, they can feast.
So too, in the evening
Look to the West
When your work day is done
And you take time to rest.
Look there for the orange
And blue in the sky
As the sun starts to set
Wipe the tear from your eye.
And as in the morning
When the colors say “Hi”
So too, in the evening
They are waving “Good bye.”

I hope and pray everyone had a great Christmas. We here in Amarillo had a white Christmas and it was beautiful!!!! I seem to every year get more and more sentimental when we celebrate Christ's Birthday. The ones so dear to our hearts that are with Him in heaven are so missed. The Lord always takes me to the memories that are so dear to my heart. One Christmas Kenda, Kevin, Kory and Sheena came and the roads were so hazardous and we got in the car anyway and went to eat at Country Barn. Kory and Sheena met us and my heart just melt when they got there at the restaurant. Then we came back over to our house and opened up presents. We had Sadie dog (Kory's grandparent's dog- she lived with us now as they had passed away) Kory was so sweet and he and Sheena looked so happy together. Kory just hugged Sadiee and I thought many times what all is he remembering when he was petting her. What I am getting at is that no matter what you are going through enjoy every second because it may be your last with a friend or loved one. Learn all you can about each other and don't assume you know everything about a person. We all have mysteries yet undiscovered just like Christ he keeps revealing things that we can not yet understand. He is in control and keeps us on track. We didn't get to see Kenda & Kevin this year and we were sad but there are some things that are out of our control. I wanted to see their faces light up the most with our gifts but the gift that keeps on giving is love sweet love. Oh the fun we had preparing the gifts. That is what our Lord does for us He has a blast preparing the gifts he wants us to have. I don't know what Christmas was to any of you, but I do know that just being with the ones we love was the most important gift we could all have.
I wish some of you would tell a memory of Kory. The other day I looked up at the sky and it was the same color as his and his grandpa Moore's eyes and I said Lord you gave him his beautiful eyes. Weren't they the most beautiful eyes in the world? It really helps alot to write and share my thoughts of Kory. I know when I do that it will help you who read this and that gives me great pleasure. I pray that 2010 will be a wonderful year for you and that you discover things you have never known about yourself and that you can be the kind person Kory was and think others better than yourselves (that is a commandment of the Lord) and reach down further inside of yourself and love like crazy and have Peace that only comes from our Lord. Kory never turned anyone away and he was always telling others like his Aunt Judy I don't see it that way this is the way I see it. Love All of You, and have a good one. Always, Aunt Donna & Uncle Jerry
